Captionless

I love when life gives you moments that are great on their own, but if you can take them with you (like these pictures) and are able to add captions later, the greatness grows so much. These are my mom's and sister's cats who are very entertaining. I believe this is the only situation in which I have used the word "pwned." It seems to be the only word that fits the third picture. I would love for some comments with your ideas of caption/word blurbs to these photos. I will work on some too.

Obama's Swagga

So while I was working today (I deliver food), I was in an office building that was airing a CNN news program, The First 100 Days for Obama's presidency. The subject of the hour: examining his swagger. with brilliant quotes like, "oh hes a brother."
Who would have ever imagined that a CNN news program would be dedicated to examining the swagger of our president?
I'm not really sure that this should be seen as progress.... because really, the swagger of our president? WHAT. Let us not fear because Obama's fellow "brothers" that were in this panel discussion recognize his swagger and are comfortable with his portrayal of a black man. I would have liked to stay and view more of this program, but again... really?

Painting

When I have the time to spare, I love to just sit and paint and see what comes out. I did this while multitasking and catching up with an old friend I'd known since 6th grade. I have plans to paint much more, I just need the time. I have so many designs in my head that I cannot wait to get on canvas.

Conjugal Harmony

http://www.conjugalharmony.com/

This is quite the business en devour, a dating site to match prisoners in prisons that allow conjugal visits with potential "mates." I should hope they are hoping to match people with their perfect cellmate. (oh punny). Soulmates are so out of style. I cannot tell if this is legitimate, but at the very least it is a good laugh. If it is legitimate, I'm a little concerned for our society.... which is most likely the case. The quote on the main page about the amount of rights a wife should have is rather disturbing.

Gamer Humor

I am so very disapointed when people just miss the brilliance of great wit. A few nights ago the boys who live above me were being so loud and rambunctious that my place was shaking. I texted them to see what the hell was going on, and they replied that they were playing video games and were way too into it and stomping all around. My response was, "What are you playing, Wii wrestling?" ... They missed it entirely. Sad day.

Drunk Breast Feeding

Drunk Breast Feeding
No, much to your surprise, that article above will not be about Britney Spears (i know right?). But there is a question that hasn't been posed along with all the other issues here, where was the baby while she was getting drunk in the bar? Left in the car, or on a bar stool booster seat?

8tracks

For some reason I've never been one to actively download music or buy cds. I've reserved this for when I need a playlist for parties or things like that. Otherwise I just stick to the radio, and if I really feel like hearing a specific song I youtube it, and if I want to stick to a specific artist I simply go to their myspace and stream the albums they have uploaded.
Another creative suggested this website to me, 8tracks.com. I think it is really neat. People create playlists and anyone can listen to them. I mostly use this for when I am in the mood to hear a genre of music I am not very familiar with, such as jazz. So I just select a jazz compilation and see how it goes, plus all the artist and track information is there encase I find something I really like and want to keep track. I'm still exploring, but so far this is my study aid.

Ch-Ch-Ch- Chief!

http://www.chiaobama.com/
I feel like there has never been quite the market for presidential gimmick products as there is with Obama. This Chia Obama is outrageous. And possibly offensive, I still haven't quite decided if his chia fro is PC or not. And is it terrible to admit, I kind of want one?

Tweet me!

Although I started a Twitter account a few weeks ago to help out with an application for a marketing internship, I really didn't understand much about it. But, after the supportive word from my professor, I got back on it yesterday and finally personalized my Twitter. Naturally I added a great big artichoke to my background. After only one night I had an AD from TBWA/Chiat/Day follow me and the list just keeps growing.
I love that it is much more open for communication than facebook is, and that it is much more focused than facebook. So, since it doesn't have all the photos and the standard amount of personal "over shares" it is much more comfortable to make extended connections to people you wouldn't on facebook.
Twitter is much more of a networking tool than facebook is. Just to further support the idea of content Twitter has versus facebook, I am comfortable Twittering my boyfriends mom, but not yet ready to FB friend her.
I'm still learning about tweeting, but I am into it! I support this new tool and am very excited about everything it will bring.

Southwest Rap It To Me!

Watch Rapping Flight Attendant and more funny videos on CollegeHumor

First I'd like to say that my favorite part is the end when an adult white male throws up "west side" signs as a sign that he approves of this new hip-hop flight instructions- that could stand on its own as entertainment. I like how even the reluctant people end up clapping along and enjoying it. I fly enough that I feel comfortable zoning out that same pre-flight speech. I'm pretty sure that nobody attempted to zone this one out. I would love for them to continue to support things like this, especially since I fly primarily southwest.
Perhaps even professors can embrace this technique... I would love to walk away from class reciting a rap about the marketing mix.

When Employees are let alone with no work

One day, in a customerless Jimmy Johns far far away (in Chicago) I was left with nothing to do. This is what resulted... I used over "proofed" bread that could not be baked and sold to create a series of bread animals. The toad became our employee mascot. All of the above were much neater before they baked, they rose much more than I thought and lost some neat detail. But I still enjoy them none the less. I'd also like to mention that that is a hippo head, not a monkey.

Shhh it happens

The back of this truck says "Shhh it happens." This is so much greater with the fact that the back end of the truck is all jacked up. I took this on my lunch break one day and still love the simple humor of it.

Not even Jack Bauer Could be this cool

http://gamu-toys.info/sonota/sw/obama/obama.html

I must say this is one of the most incredible politically related toys ever. Perhaps that is because Obama is seen as much more than a politician globally. This Obama comes with 2 heads, 3 hand positions (and I think one set is positionable), and I suspect it might also come with a guarantee that the user will be able to kick ass, take names, and even take on Darth Vader. I really don't think an action figure for Jack Bauer, who breathes and sweats bad-ass-ness, could compare to this collection. Who wouldn't be onboard with this? Order me one!
