Tweet me!

Although I started a Twitter account a few weeks ago to help out with an application for a marketing internship, I really didn't understand much about it. But, after the supportive word from my professor, I got back on it yesterday and finally personalized my Twitter. Naturally I added a great big artichoke to my background. After only one night I had an AD from TBWA/Chiat/Day follow me and the list just keeps growing.
I love that it is much more open for communication than facebook is, and that it is much more focused than facebook. So, since it doesn't have all the photos and the standard amount of personal "over shares" it is much more comfortable to make extended connections to people you wouldn't on facebook.
Twitter is much more of a networking tool than facebook is. Just to further support the idea of content Twitter has versus facebook, I am comfortable Twittering my boyfriends mom, but not yet ready to FB friend her.
I'm still learning about tweeting, but I am into it! I support this new tool and am very excited about everything it will bring.

Southwest Rap It To Me!

Watch Rapping Flight Attendant and more funny videos on CollegeHumor

First I'd like to say that my favorite part is the end when an adult white male throws up "west side" signs as a sign that he approves of this new hip-hop flight instructions- that could stand on its own as entertainment. I like how even the reluctant people end up clapping along and enjoying it. I fly enough that I feel comfortable zoning out that same pre-flight speech. I'm pretty sure that nobody attempted to zone this one out. I would love for them to continue to support things like this, especially since I fly primarily southwest.
Perhaps even professors can embrace this technique... I would love to walk away from class reciting a rap about the marketing mix.

When Employees are let alone with no work

One day, in a customerless Jimmy Johns far far away (in Chicago) I was left with nothing to do. This is what resulted... I used over "proofed" bread that could not be baked and sold to create a series of bread animals. The toad became our employee mascot. All of the above were much neater before they baked, they rose much more than I thought and lost some neat detail. But I still enjoy them none the less. I'd also like to mention that that is a hippo head, not a monkey.
